About The Program

Directorate General of Trade Remedies (DGTR) Internship Program 2024 is an opportunity offered by the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India to postgraduate students/research scholars. The objective of this program is to equip interested and motivated students with the knowledge and skills necessary to understand and engage in Trade Remedies Investigations and Trade Defence Measures. The Internship Scheme by the Directorate General of Trade Remedies (DGTR), Department of Commerce, Ministry of Commerce & Industry provides the opportunity to young scholars, especially from the Law / Economics stream, interested in learning about trade remedial investigations. The objective of this scheme is to familiarize interested and willing PG students / Research scholars with Trade remedial investigations / Trade Defence measures.

The primary objective of the Internship Scheme is to provide a platform for postgraduate students and research scholars to gain hands-on experience in trade remedial investigations and trade defense measures. By participating in this scheme, scholars can augment their theoretical knowledge with practical insights, fostering a deeper understanding of trade dynamics.

Tenure: Flexibility to Suit Your Schedule

The internship duration is flexible, with a minimum requirement of one month. This allows participants to tailor their internship experience to fit their academic schedule and personal commitments.

Number of Interns: Tailored to Demand

The number of interns accepted into the program will be determined by DGTR based on organizational needs and capacity. However, it’s important to note that participation in the internship program does not guarantee employment within the department or government.

Benefits

Upon successful completion of the internship, interns will receive a certificate acknowledging their participation. It’s worth noting that while the internship provides valuable learning opportunities, financial assistance or stipends are not provided.

Eligibility Criteria

Postgraduate students or research scholars from recognized universities or institutes are eligible to apply.
The internship must either be part of the applicant’s course curriculum or pursued as an additional assignment during annual vacations.

Documents Required

At the time of Application – The candidate will be required to produce a permission/forwarding letter from their Supervisor or Head of Department of the Institute.
